| More information | Our club (Itä-Suomen yliopiston Taekwon-Do Kuopio) will arrange a beginner course for ITF Taekwon-Do this Spring. The course is open for all the students and staff members of the University of Eastern Finland and Savonia-polytechnic. Previous experience in sports or martial arts is not required, the course is suitable for both beginners and experienced athletes. The course will start 15.2.2022 and will end later at Spring to the yellow belt grading test. Taekwon-Do is a korean martial art, which is known especially for its high and impressive kicking techniques. In the ITF-style of Taekwon-Do, also the punching techniques have a huge role. However, Taekwon-Do is not all about just sparring, but it includes also for example patterns, self defense and power breaking. Taekwon-Do is a great sport for improving power, speed and endurance, as well as flexibility and coordination. TRAINING SCHEDULE: Beginner course trainings will be twice a week: - Tuesday 5-7pm - Thursday 3-5 pm Also, as a member of the club you can take part to Kickfit lessons at Wednesday, 5-6pm. All trainings will be at Studentia sports hall, section 3. PRICE The total price for the course is 59 € which includes: - The Union License of the Finnish Taekwon-Do Union (32 €) - Our club membership for Spring time (20 €) - Beginners course fee (7 €) All participants also must have a Sykettä-sport sticker (either ball sports sticker, or group exercise sticker). REGISTRATION You can register to the course by coming to training and tell the teacher you're interested, or by sending email to pj.kuopio@ueftkd.fi. EQUIPMENT For the beginners course, all you need is loose and comfortable sports clothes, and a drinking bottle. After beginners course it is recommended that the students acquire an official Taekwon-Do suit (dobok). The most active students should consider acquiring their own sparring gear as well.
